Present Tense is Belman Soylemez first feature film. It is a Turkish film made in 2012. The Casting includes Sanam Oge, Senay Aydin and Ozan Bilan leading the roles. The film tells the story of a young unemployed woman who tells fortune to find a way to start a new life.

Unable to find a good job, Mina (Sanam Oge) applies for work as a fortune teller in a cafe. While she reads the coffee cups of different women, she also tries to find a way out for herself. Fazi (Senay Aydin) another fortune teller likes Mina but soon becomes jealous due to her increasing women customers.

Mina tries to direct all her resources to moving to US. Though she is saving money, she doesn’t have a visa or necessary documents. Her apartment building is being turned into a hotel and will be thrown out soon. Mina is divorced and keeps a difficult relationship with her family. Tayfun(Ozan Bilan) is the cafe owner. He is disappointed of his family business. He was fond of Mina. His character silently conveys this. Fazi jumps from one relation to another.

Many ladies were interested in hearing fortune from Mina. She never tells professionally. What she tells them were actually her own experiences. At the end Mina and Fazi becomes good friends. The ending scene is a visual treat from which the viewer understood that her fortune telling was own experience. It is a quiet film about a struggling life of a lady.
